Marjorie Richards, Phlebotomist A.S.C.P.

Phlebotomy Instructor

Marjorie received her phlebotomy certification from Helping Hands Trade School in 2007. She began her career at Sebasticook Valley Hospital in January of 2008 where she continues to work as a phlebotomist and specimen processor. Marjorie is certified to perform urine drug screening for the Department of Transportation, EKG’s and also performs therapeutic phlebotomy.

Since receiving her phlebotomy certification, Marjorie has continued her education and received an Associate degree in Liberal Studies at Eastern Maine Community College in 2012 and will graduate with her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management in the fall of 2016. She has a great deal of experience in training new hires as well as students.

Marjorie is excited to have the opportunity to inspire health care professionals in the phlebotomy field.


Belinda Day, C.D.A., R.A.D

Dental Assisting Instructor

Belinda is a graduate of the Dental Assisting program at Kennebec Valley Community College. She is a member of DANB with a Maine Radiology license. She is CPR/BLS certified. She has thirty years of chair-side dental assisting experience, presently employed at the practice of Dr. Andy Friedman, DMD in Madison Maine.

Specialties include: Chair-side Assisting: Impressions; Restorative (fillings); Prosthodontics; General Practice Oral Surgery; Dental Implant Restoration; Dental Radiology; Oral Pathology; OSHA Regulations/Infection Control.


Kayla Sikora B.S., C.D.A., R.A.D

KaylaDental Assisting Instructor

Kayla earned her Bachelors of Science in Leadership and Organizational Studies from the University of Southern Maine. She is certified in Teaching Adult Education and is pursuing her Masters in Adult and Higher Education.

Kayla is a Maine licensed dental radiographer. She has five years’ experience as a dental assistant and three years’ experience as a Dental Assistant Course Instructor.

Kayla looks forward to assisting you with your educational journey in the broad field of dentistry.


Katherine Trask, R.N.

KatherinePrimary Instructor: CNA, CRMA, CNA-M, PSS

Katherine graduated from KVCC in 2001 with a degree in nursing.

Katherine has several years of experience in the nursing field. She worked as a CNA for 2 years in both long term care and in the hospital before finishing her nursing degree. She has two years of experience in Med /Surg, 8 yrs in OB/maternity, 6 years Long Term Care in a per diem position and 5 years with Hospice. Katherine learned of her passion for teaching through instruction of Childbirth Education at RFGH for several years.

She is grateful for the opportunity to share her years of nursing experience with the upcoming generation of healthcare workers.


Deann Ward, C.P.A.T

Medical Billing Specialist Instructor

Deann graduated from Beal College in Bangor earning a Medical Secretary Associate Degree. She has worked at Sebasticook Valley Health for over twenty years and is currently a Medicare biller in the patient accounts department.

Deann has also specialized in patient registration, scheduling follow up visits and processing copayments.

Deann completed her (AAHAM) American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management technical certification in 2001. She is a Certified Patient Account Technician and has also worked with Central Registration, HIM duties, optical imaging and release of information.
